BBC response to complaint about DJ Sara Cox’s twitter comments
The BBC responded to my complaint about Sara Cox’s comments towards subtitles being shown at an English language screening of Bridemaids. It arrived at just after midnight this morning.
TO recap Sara asked for a discount because there were subtitles, wanted to put gaffa tape over her glasses to cover them up and told those who found her comments about subtitled screenings offensive were ‘gob******’.

Ukraine V England qualifier: Deaf fans do not count
Is this the future of broadcasting? England’s World Cup qualifier live online against Ukraine on Saturday (on 10th October 2009) won’t be subtitled or audio described.
A historic moment in broadcasting for football fans everywhere – yet again Deaf and Disabled fans will miss out.
If they are watching it – it will be without sound. Maybe they’ll club together to pay the extra £50+ an hour needed for two British Sign Language...
