Battle for Accessible tickets- de ja vu!

Guest post by Samantha On April 12th, one of my favourite artists in the world, Rufus Wainwright, announced an Autumn tour, I was interested in going to several of the gigs. The tickets were due to go on sale on Friday 20th April, but members of Rufus’ website could access the ArtistTickets.com presale on Wednesday 18th, which was online only. I’m visually impaired, and need to attend anything like this with a Personal Assistant/Carer....

Accessible Coldplay Tickets: A Battle Lost?

Guest post by Samantha (written jointly with PeskyPeople) On Friday  18th November 2011, thousands of fans swamped the online ticket agencies and telephone lines to eagerly snap up tickets for Coldplay’s newly announced June performance dates. They sold out in half an hour. Disabled fans could not even book a ticket! Not because they didn’t get through quick enough on the phone lines or online booking, but because the system in place...

The L.T.D Fest @proudcamden

Heavy Load With the uproar over Dea Birkett’s tweet yesterday about her daughter being turned away from a Proud venue it’s worth mentioning that they are hosting a fantastic festival at Proud Camden on Thursday 24th February. L.T.D. Fest (Let’s Talk Disability) is being hosted by T4’s Jameela Jamil as part  Channel 4′s Battlefront Campaign Lets Talk Disability. It’s got an incredible electric line of performers both...

Meltdown at The South Bank

Update (15th June) Following my tweeting about this blog I’ve had a response from Head of Customer Relations at South Bank Centre offering a refund for the Krystle Warren tickets and comps to see a performance at any time over the next year. I’ve replied (with thanks). It has to be appreciated that South Bank Centre responded quickly to address my complaint. I’ve also raised a number of concerns back regarding how they: test in-house...
